Hair Loss affects more than 30 million women today

The number one cause of hair loss is male and female pattern baldness. This is known as Androgenic Alopecia. It is hereditary hair thinning, for both men and women. This is the most common form of alopecia in women. ~The only living part of hair is the scalp. Inflammation of the hair follicle is caused by bacterial, fungal, or viral infections, this can affect hair growth, or hair loss.

Hormones are the most important factor regulating hair growth. There are hormonal changes during puberty, pregnancy, and old age, that will affect your hair growth and or hair loss. ~Your health and nutrition are very important for healthy hair growth. It is very important to eat the right amount of lean protein that goes with your active life style. Most of us don't get enough.

Certain hair styles that place a lot of tension on hair, such as braids, cornrows, ponytails, or buns, can stress the scalp over a period of time. This can cause scarring loss of hair and prevent re-growth. Certain illnesses such as lupus, sugar diabetes, and epilepsy to name a few can also affect hair growth. ~Also, the medications and medical treatments for these illnesses can cause hair loss.
